What is AetherTab?
AetherTab is a free, open-source Chrome tab manager. It replaces the new tab page with open tabs on the left and saved collections on the right. Drag a tab into a collection to keep the page and close the tab. There is no AetherTab account.
How do I install it?
Install AetherTab from the Chrome Web Store, then open a new tab. Create a collection and drag an open tab into it, or use Save Session to save the current window.
Can I import Chrome or Toby bookmarks?
Yes. Import Chrome bookmarks directly, or choose a browser HTML export or a Toby JSON/TXT export. Review the import before saving. Toby notes and tags are not imported. Read the Toby import guide.
Do I need an account? Where is my data stored?
No separate AetherTab account is needed. Collections are stored in Chrome storage, and bookmark organization runs on your device. Optional Chrome Sync uses your signed-in Chrome profile. Read the privacy policy.
Can I share a collection or report an issue?
Use a collection’s share control to export a share code or JSON file. For help, bugs, or feature suggestions, visit the official GitHub repository.
Is this a session manager?
Save Session stores the current window as a collection. Open that collection later and use Open all tabs to bring the pages back. Collections stay in Chrome storage on this browser unless you turn on Chrome Sync or export them.
